Celebrating Pride Month: North Devon Coastal PCN’s Commitment to Inclusivity
At North Devon Coastal PCN, we are proud to celebrate Pride Month and reaffirm our commitment to providing a safe and inclusive space for everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Throughout June, we’ve taken several steps to show our support for the LGBTQ+ community, both within our teams and across the wider community.
To start, we’ve distributed rainbow NHS lanyards to all of our team members, making it clear that we are a welcoming and supportive environment for all patients. These lanyards serve as a visual reminder that our practice is a safe space, where everyone can feel comfortable and respected.
We’ve also shared important resources online and within our teams to raise awareness of support and community services available for LGBTQIA+ communities.
To ensure that we are continually improving our understanding, we’ve offered training sessions for all staff on inclusive terminology and the specific health challenges that LGBTQ+ individuals often experience. This training helps us provide more informed, compassionate care, and ensures that every patient feels seen and understood.
Finally, we were proud to attend Barnstaple Pride this year, standing alongside the LGBTQ+ community to show our support. Our participation in Pride events helps highlight the importance of diversity and inclusion in healthcare and beyond, and we’re committed to continuing our efforts throughout the year.
